My Adventures

I fundamentally believe that living a little more adventurously is essential to building resilience and adaptability, as well as being great for our general health and wellbeing.

Resilience - our ability to withstand and adapt to changes and challenges, rather than trying to resist or control them - will determine who succeeds and who fails. That’s true in the cancer ward, it’s true in sport, and it’s true in the boardroom.

That’s why, every year, I set out on a series of personal adventures which take me out of my comfort zone and test my limits of endurance.

In 2022, I ran four ultra marathons (2 x 100 kilometres and 2 x 100 miles) and completed my first 24-hour ultra trail race, covering a total distance of 106 miles.

In January 2023, I completed the 496km challenge (running each day of the month in kilometres) and in May, the Hyrox fitness competition at Olympia. In early August, I ran the Bannister 24-hour ultra, covering 95.4 miles in 20 hrs. And in December, I ran the Hurtwood 50 endurance race across the Surrey Hills.

In 2024, I’m planning to run 206 miles across Iceland, and take a crack at the Cape Wrath Ultra, a 400km, 8-day running adventure through the Scottish highlands.
